Luci has come a long way since joining our rescue! Previously a “heard but not seen” type of gal, she has really opened up to her foster the last 4 months. She sits at the dinner table, spends mornings gazing in the mirror wishing for breakfast, and following her foster around like a tiny shadow.

Her polyps make her audible before she even comes into the room, but she’s hoping that a little surgery will give her the breath of fresh air that she needs to find a forever home and a feline best friend! She would do well in a home with an existing cat who wants companionship.

Earlier this year, we introduced you to the absolutely irresistible chunk of love that is Poppa. His perfect pristine kitten mittens and gorgeous green eyes are quite literally, almost too much to bear.

We’ve brought you along to watch his journey as he works (and plays!) to shed some pounds and reach a healthy weight. But what many haven’t known about is a different journey Poppa has been on.

Late fall 2025, Poppa’s most beloved human, Dylan, transitioned on. Through the personal networking and advocating by Dylan’s loved ones, FCCQ was able to take in the heartbroken Poppa and place him with one of our most loving foster families.

Dylan was also beloved by so many in the Astoria community that he and Poppa were a part of together - especially its comedy network. So while we at FCCQ have been providing Poppa with as much physical, mental and emotional support as possible, we now would love to invite you to support Dylan’s greater human community at an event honoring his life and memory. This sweet 3-year-old girl hasn't had the easiest start, but she’s proving every day that she’s ready for a fresh chapter. While she’s still a bit shy—especially around the guys—her gentle soul shines through the moment she finds a good head-scratcher.

She’s still learning how "toys" work (though she’s quite fond of her catnip squirrel!), and she’s looking for a patient home where she can bloom at her own pace.

Poppa Update!
Poppa has been working hard on his fitness goals, and easily fits into the slimmer delivery boxes he's had his eye on 😻
Our sweet and smart boy has been enjoying new slow feeders and enrichment toys, doing laps with his foster mama, and of course taking time for a biiiig streetch after working those biscuit making muscles.
He got a checkup and is progressing right on track with his weight loss goals. Now, Poppa just needs his forever home with people who will nurture his health kick, keep his mind and body busy, and of course give endless amounts of love and belly rubs!

Meet Luci!

We took her in a few months ago, and we suspect she’d been dumped outside over a year prior. She was TNR’d and living out there with a polyp that made her breathing sound like a tiny car engine.

She wanted love SO badly and leaned into pets, so inside she came. At first she was scared and timid, but now she begs for pets, plays with toys, screams for food (scroll to the end), and has fully embraced her indoor era.

She’s tiny, impossibly soft, sounds like a baby seal, and she loves other cats — she will do best with a friend at her side.

We updated you on our quadruplets! Now, let's check in with our triplets, Tomasina, Loki, and Juanito! They were the surprise Luna was smuggling in her belly when she was first brought in from living outside, along with two siblings whom the family found homes for before they came to us. These sweethearts have grown up always having siblings and friends around, and it shows. Since having them in foster care, they've shown beautiful personalities - independent, intelligent, playful, and incredibly sweet - they steal the heart of everyone who meets them. They travel well and even went to a therapy visit where they went above and beyond their headbutt and purr quotas, bringing so much joy to a cat lover who can no longer have cats.
Since then, Juanito's sweet, calm spirit spoke to a woman who was ready to adopt again after losing her senior cat last year, and Juanito is now Poppy and living in her forever home with a cat, a corgi, and many human laps to be spoiled in.
Tomasina and Loki are with their foster and foster siblings, and loving every minute, however, they'll be so happy when their journey comes to an end and they know they'll never have to move again.
These girls are incredible and would make the best addition to any home. Tomasina was sent to love and heal everyone she meets, and Loki gives us a curious outlook on life that makes every day interesting!
